I heart actual brushes as well, but they’re far less practical for TV-doodling.

How can yo doodle and watch TV at the same time.  Especially Dead Like Me.  Love that show!

What kind of brush pens are you using?  I wanted to try a Pentel Pocket Brush, but they don’t sell them anywhere I can buy them.  Even the interweb stores I’ve seen that carry them are Canadian, and won’t ship to the US (or it costs more to ship them than to buy them, ant that’s dumb).

I have a brush pen I LOVE that my brother got for me from the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, but all the packaging is in Japanese or Chinese, and I don’t have any idea how to find more.  It has an actual brush tip as opposed to the crappy felt-tip “brush pens” I’ve been able to find elsewhere.  GAH!

DH, yes, it’s the Pentel Pocket Brush, which also has real (synthetic) bristles.  I love them to death—they’re perfect for carrying around for portable mess-free brush-ability.

I buy mine from Curry’s, which doesn’t ship to the U.S., but Island Blue seems to ship to the U.S.

Great sketches!  I too LOVE the brush pen but I’m sadly lacking when it comes to my skill level with the thing.

Great stuff Johnny! Why don’t you post your sketches more often? Huh?!

Love your Mandy Patinkin. Also love Dead Like Me. Also, thanks for the heads up on the brush pen - I’ve been searching for a good sketching pen, and I just can’t seem to find something that suits me. Perhap’s I should try out this brush pen, it looks like fun.

Someone should tell that rabbit the dangers of smoking. My father was a short-tail brundle rabbit who died thanks to his smoking habit. Not from cancer or anything. He just liked smoking at the gas station. All we recovered was his left big toe..... And that was the toe that kicked me awake every morning. Damn smoking.

My recommendation is the Kuretake brush-it is precise, clean, refillable, flows consistently and a wonderful pen/brush for those of us who are brush shy-i’ve used it more and more thru the last year or so and it still holds it’s tip and i’ve gotten more and more proficient with it-i bought a couple more to both keep as a back up and to use at con appearances-at least that’s my 2 or 3 cents ;o)

Simply echoing the previous poster, but I just purchased a Kuretake brush pen.  Available from Dick Blick online or you can have one of their shops order it for you.  Have just been playing with this brush/pen for a few days now, but I am enthralled.  In the interest of full disclosure I have never tried the Pentel.

Nice sketching.  If I watch TV at all these days, it’s because I feel like sketching something.  TV sketching is fun.  More folks should try it!
