Anagram TTC Map

ttc-anagram.jpg

After seeing the Anagram London Underground Map on BoingBoing, I just had to create one for Toronto’s subway system:

Anagram TTC Map (PDF)

Unfortunately, a small handful of TTC stations didn’t lend themselves to anagrams very well, so “Queen” became “Queen Street”, “King” became “King Street”, “Finch” became “Finch Ave.”, and “McCowan” became “McCowan Road”.

Enjoy!

A Soundtrack for Everyone says:

Wow, that is pretty amazing. Now someone needs to go and scrawl these names under each station name…

Here via BoingBoing… this is absolutely hilarious.

I’ve gotten the inspiration to work on a similar map for Atlanta’s MARTA rail system… haven’t gotten very far yet, as I’m still in the anagramming stage and haven’t even started working on the actual *map* yet, my favorite anagram I’ve come up with so far is “Pothole Saviour/Everything Broken” (Brookhaven/Oglethorpe University).

Great job. Car Slit Stew might respect the similarity of the source names. But don’t listen to the peanut gallery, it is super in any case.

Unbelievable. For years I’ve been scouring every inch of this city, on the TTC no less, looking desperately for a nun remedy (scars of a Cathoilic boyhood and all.) And there it is, right at the foot of my street. God bless you, Robot Johnny. God bless you.

El eek! (aka Keele) ... One hears a lot of things about Toronto, like the people in Don Mills are not too bright or that there are raw homos in the washroom, and you have now confirmed these.  Thx!!

codeman38 says:

And the MARTA anagram map is done. The long station names were some of the most frustrating and the most fun…

Asiak says:

I especially love how the location of ‘Raw Homos’ are now clearly marked. You’ve made my Cruising Trips so much more convenient. Hot.

Too damn funny.  I gotta stop at Skirt Pact for sure.

Out of interest, are you using some kind of anagram search program?  I haven’t been able to find anything decent that doesn’t cost money :-

I showed this at work this morning on the overhead projector! The pdf was on my desktop next to my presentation, and we were waiting for people to come to the meeting, so I thought I’d show something fun to the few people who came early. I also showed my “Amazing Vancouver” video (during the actual meeting), so clearly this was a meeting of Great Importance.

Hi,

Loved the map!

It’s sad that Toronto’s transport apparatchiks are as po-faced and humourless as London’s.

My angrammatic contribution to the debate:

Toronto Transit Commission = = Onanist morons: “Coo! trim tits!”

Yes, they *are* a bunch of w*nk*rs!

Mick.

Janice Ashby says:

The TTC should hold an “Architectual Contest” to renew, revitalize, rebuild old TTC stations a few at a time in a way that the TTC and the people don’t pay a penny, and the stations would look like those in Montreal, Canada.  (Canada has some of the best architect’s in the world)!

Adam Giambrone can buy whatever he needs for the TTC, create future buses that don’t run off gas and ship the bills to Stevie Harper, if his friends complain we sue them for negligence and lying all the time.  You see in France people tell the gov’t what to do, and they’re not scared of the gov’t, and we have to stop looking at the complications and see the possibilites and the benefits of all we’re doing for the people!

Arguing with Adam and David about how easy this is, is damn hard.  They need some help from people in France to tell the gov’t what to do!
