In the Skin of a Pedro the Lion

Coudal Partners has a fantastic little contest called Booking Bands.

The walls in the washroom at their studio are chalkboards filled with mashed-up titles of books and band names.  For example, Horton Hears a Hoobastank, Chicken Soup for the Soul Asylum, and my personal favourite, The Agony and the XTC.

(edit: after going through their samples again, I found a new favourite I missed the first time: Are You There, Godsmack? It’s Me, Margaret.)

They want more.  I missed the deadline to play along, but screw it… you know I couldn’t resist:

  • Goethe’s Feist

  • The Sound and the Furious Five

  • The Grapes of Raffi

  • Radiohead Revisited

  • GWAR and Peace

  • Anna Karenina Simone

  • A Million Little Posies

  • Middlesex Pistols

  • Fear and Loathing in Los Lobos

  • The Memory of Running Man

  • Oryx and Cake

  • The Little Artist Formerly Known as Prince
  • The Artist Formerly Known as Prince and the Pauper (funnier)

  • The Virgin Suicidal Tendencies

  • Go Tell It on the Mountain Goats

  • Cyrano De Bacharach

  • Marilyn Neuromanson

  • In the Skin of a Pedro the Lion
  • Jane Eyre’s Addiction

(edit 2: Over dinner my friend and I realized that In the Skin of a Lionel Richie is much funnier...)
